Maintaining a Healthy Nutritional Intake in the Older Person.

Optimising nutritional intake for all older persons is crucial to many functional outcomes associated with activities of daily living. Often weight is lost with ageing, however this is not a desirable part of ageing.

 Minimising muscle loss will assist older persons to maintain strength, mobility and independence and reduce the risk falls.

This Webinar will discuss the risk of malnutrition in the older person and strategies to support clients maintain a healthy weight and nutritional intake. It will provide an overview of macronutrients and energy requirements and discuss the benefits of maximising micronutrients to maintain health.

Aiming to provide clinicians with information on how to engage clients to ensure every meal and snack maximises nutrition to support health, it will also discuss the pros and cons of nutritional supplementation.
