Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd (HSE) also trading as the Nurses for Nurses Network (NfNN) and Nursing CPD (NCPD).
These Subscriber TERMS OF SERVICE (“Terms of Service”) constitute a binding contract between you (“the Subscriber or the “Customer” or “You”) and Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd (“the Company” or “HSE”), regarding the terms under which HSE will provide the Subscriber with access to the Services.
BY AGREEING TO THE “TERMS OF USE”, THE SUBSCRIBER SIGNIFIES THEIR AGREEMENT TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS OF SERVICE (“Acceptance”). The Subscriber agrees that its assent, given electronically, will have the same legal effect as if it had been personally signed by the Subscriber. To the extent permitted by law, these Terms of Service are intended to supersede any provisions of applicable law, which might otherwise limit their enforceability or effect, because they were entered into electronically. If you do not abide by these Terms of Service, we may suspend or terminate your account without notice. You must not re-register to the Nursing CPD website. Please print a copy of these Terms of Service for future reference.
1. SUBSCRIBER WARRANTIES, RIGHTS, REPRESENTATIONS, RESTRICTIONS, AND OBLIGATIONS

1.5.4 The Subscriber will not rent, lease, sublicense, re-sell, distribute, transfer, copy or modify the Services or any component thereof;
1.5.5 The Subscriber will not translate, decompile, or create or attempt to create, by reverse engineering or otherwise, the source code from the object code made available hereunder;
1.5.6 The Subscriber will not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store or transmit the Services or any portion thereof;
1.5.7 The Subscriber will not delete or alter any copyright, trademark or other proprietary rights notices from copies of materials from the Website or contained in the Services;
1.5.8 The Subscriber is solely responsible for acquiring, installing, operating and maintaining the hardware and software environment, network connections, and telecommunication links, necessary to access and use the Services;
1.5.9 The Subscriber will not use the Services in any manner, or in connection with any content, data, hardware, software or other materials that infringe upon or violates any patent, copyright, trade secret, trademark, or other intellectual property right of any third party, or that constitutes defamation, libel, invasion of privacy, or violation of any right of publicity or other third party right, or that is threatening, harassing or malicious.
1.5.10 The utilisation of the CPD platform is based on one hour of active learning equates to one hour of CPD. Excess utilisation of the platform outside of this premise will result in the immediate suspension of the Subscriber’s account and an investigation by senior staff.
2. AVAILABILITY OF WEBSITE
2.1 The Subscriber recognizes that the traffic of data through the Internet may cause delays during the download of information from the Website and accordingly, it shall not hold HSE liable for delays that are ordinary in the course of Internet use. The Subscriber further acknowledges and accepts that the Website will not be available on a continual twenty-four-hour basis due to such delays, or delays caused by the Company’s upgrading, modification, or standard maintenance of the Website.
3. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
3.1 The Services are owned by Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd, and is protected by Australian and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.
3.2 No right, title or interest in or to the Services or any portion thereof, is transferred to any Subscriber or Authorized End User, and all rights not expressly granted herein, are reserved by Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd.
3.3 The Company name, the Company logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs and slogans, are trademarks of Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd or its affiliates or licensors. Subscriber may not use such marks without the prior written permission of the Company. All other names, logos, product and service names, designs and slogans on this Website are the trademarks of their respective owners.
3.2 No right, title or interest in or to the Services or any portion thereof, is transferred to any Subscriber or Authorized End User, and all rights not expressly granted herein, are reserved by Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd.

4. COMPANY OBLIGATIONS
4.1 The Company will use commercially reasonable efforts to enable the Services to be accessible, except for scheduled maintenance and required repairs, and except for any interruption due to causes beyond the reasonable control of, or not reasonably foreseeable by Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd, including, but not limited to, any Force Majeure Event (as defined below). The foregoing undertaking shall not apply to the extent of any non-conformance caused by use of the Services contrary to the Company’s instructions, or modification or alteration of the Services by any party other than the Company.
4.2 If the Services are in non-conformance with the foregoing undertaking, the Company will, at its expense, use all reasonable commercial endeavours to correct any such non-conformance promptly, or provide Subscriber with an alternative means of accomplishing the desired performance.
4.3 Currency and Review of Educational Content
4.3.1 The Company provides online education and training resources (“Educational Content”) for general information and professional development purposes.
4.3.2 The Educational Content is reviewed on an annual basis to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that it remains current, accurate, and relevant to contemporary professional practice.
4.3.3 Notwithstanding clause 2, the Company does not warrant or guarantee that the Educational Content will always reflect the most recent developments, guidelines, or research in every area covered. Users are responsible for exercising their own professional judgment and making independent enquiries before relying on the Educational Content.
4.3.4 The Company reserves the right to amend, update, or withdraw any Educational Content at any time without prior notice.
5. FEES, PAYMENT & REFUNDS
5.1 Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd reserves the right to cancel educational services, professional activities and products, due to extenuating circumstances
5.1.1 In this instance, wherever possible, Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd will endeavour to give appropriate and timely notification to participants and a full refund or alternative schedule of delivery will be offered.
5.2 Payment Details
5.2.1 Recurring charges are billed in advance of service.
5.2.2 The Subscriber agrees to maintain up-to-date and complete contact and billing details.
5.2.3 Subscriber further authorises the Company to bill such credit card on the Effective Date (and corresponding Renewal Dates, if appropriate) for the Subscription Fee due for the Subscription Term (and Renewal Term).
5.2.4 If for any reason, the Subscriber’s credit card company refuses to pay the amount billed for the Services, the Subscriber agrees that the Company may, at its option, suspend or terminate the Subscriber’s subscription to the Services and require the Subscriber to pay the overdue amount by other means acceptable to the Company. The company may charge a fee for reinstatement of suspended or terminated accounts. The Subscriber agrees that until its subscription to the Services is properly terminated, it will continue to accrue charges for which it remains responsible, even if it does not use the Services.
5.2.5 In the event legal action is necessary to collect on balances due, the Subscriber agrees to reimburse the Company for all expenses incurred to recover sums due, including legal fees and other legal expenses, Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd will endeavour to give appropriate and timely notification to participants and a full refund or alternative schedule of delivery will be offered.
5.3 Subscription Fees
5.3.1 All Subscriptions are annual commitments billed yearly.
5.3.2 For All Subscriptions, should your subscription lapse (30 days overdue), regardless of subscription type, and you wish to re-join Nursing CPD to re-activate your previous account you will be required to pay the Standard Annual Subscription fee.
5.3.3 The Subscriber acknowledges and agrees that the annual Subscription Fee may be increased on renewal from time to time in line with movements in the Australian Consumer Price Index (CPI), or any replacement index published by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Any such increase applies from the Subscriber’s next renewal date. Continued use of the Services and payment of the renewed Subscription Fee constitutes acceptance of the revised fee.

5.4 Cancellation of a Nursing CPD Subscription
5.4.1 Nursing CPD subscriptions are annual commitments, billed yearly in advance.
5.4.2 Subscribers may cancel their subscription at any time in writing or via their My Account dashboard. Cancellation prevents the subscription from renewing at the end of the current paid subscription period.

5.4.3 Cancelling a subscription does not automatically entitle the Subscriber to a full or partial refund of subscription fees already paid.
5.4.4 Where an annual subscription has automatically renewed, a Subscriber may request a refund of the renewal payment within 14 calendar days of the renewal payment date, provided that:
a) the Subscriber has not accessed, commenced or completed any CPD learning activity during the renewed subscription period; and
b) the refund request is made in writing in accordance with clause 5.7.
5.4.5 Where CPD learning activities have been accessed, commenced or completed during the renewed subscription period, the renewal payment is non-refundable.
5.4.6 Refund requests for renewal payments received more than 14 calendar days after the renewal payment date will not be eligible for a refund, except where required under the Australian Consumer Law or where the circumstances set out in clause 5.5.1 apply.
5.4.7 Where a subscription is cancelled outside the refund period, the Subscriber will retain access to their subscription until the end of the period for which they have paid. No further renewal payment will be taken.
5.4.8 Subscription fees will not be refunded or calculated on a pro-rata basis for any unused portion of a subscription period following cancellation.
5.5 Refunds
5.5.1 Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd will provide a refund in the following circumstances:

5.5.1.1 An identified overpayment has been made for goods or services;
5.5.1.2 An error has been made by Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd;

5.5.1.4 A subscription renewal meets the eligibility requirements set out in clause 5.4.4.
5.5.2 Subject to any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law, Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd will not provide a refund in the following circumstances:
5.5.2.1 Where a Subscriber, customer or client changes their mind outside the applicable refund period;
5.5.2.2 Where a Subscriber, customer or client subsequently decides they cannot afford the product or service;
5.5.2.3 Where a Subscriber, customer or client finds an alternative product or service at a more competitive price;
5.5.2.4 Where the Subscriber, customer or client incorrectly chooses a product or service;
5.5.2.5 Where a Subscriber fails to cancel an automatically renewing annual subscription before its renewal date and does not request cancellation and a refund within 14 calendar days of the renewal payment date;
5.5.2.6 Where a Subscriber has accessed, commenced or completed CPD learning activities during the renewed subscription period; or
5.5.2.7 For any unused portion of an annual subscription following cancellation outside the applicable refund period.
5.5.3 Refunds do not apply to changes caused by reason of civil strife, riots, war, the threat of war, natural disaster, pandemics, quarantine or travel restrictions, illness, industrial action, technical problems, terrorist activity, and similar events beyond our control.
5.6 Other than as set out above, and as is detailed elsewhere in these conditions, we shall have no legal liability whatsoever to you for any loss, damage, personal injury or death which you suffer arising directly or indirectly from any aspect of your association with the services provided by Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd
5.7 All requests for refunds must be:
a) Made in writing via email to enquiries@nursingcpd.com.au
b) Approved by the Company Directors.
5.8 Refund for Online Courses:
a) A full refund, less a 10% administration fee, will be provided for registrants who have not commenced the learning activity contained within the scheduled Online Course.
b) Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd must receive written requests no later than 2 business days before the commencement of any Online Course learning activity.
c) Once you have started your course, you are unable to transfer.
d) We reserve the right to cancel a course or refuse any enrolment as permitted by law.
e) We also reserve the right to change the presenter of a course in unforeseeable circumstances.
f) All course materials are copyrighted and you agree not to sell, rent or otherwise distribute your course materials in any way.
g) All enrolled online course attendees are automatically added to the Nursing CPD's mailing list, which informs subscribers about upcoming courses, CPD activities and exclusive deals. You can unsubscribe at any time.
h) When you have purchased a course, you have access to this course for 12 months from your purchase date.
6. THIRD PARTY LINKS AND INFORMATION
6.1 This Website may contain links to other websites that are not operated by or related to the Company. The Company is not responsible for the content, accuracy or opinions expressed in such third-party websites, and does not investigate, monitor, or check these websites for accuracy or completeness. The inclusion of any linked website on this Website does not imply approval or endorsement of the linked website by the Company. A Subscriber that leaves this Website to access these third-party sites does so at its own risk.
6.2 Supply of Content

Changes are effective immediately upon posting and the Subscriber’s continued use of any of the Services following the posting of revised Terms of Service means that Subscriber accepts and agrees to the changes, to the extent permitted by applicable laws.
9. ASSIGNMENT
9.1 Subscriber may not transfer these Terms of Service, in whole or in part. Company may transfer these Terms of Service and/or subcontract some or all of its obligations hereunder at any time.
10. FORCE MAJEURE
10.1 Company will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform or delay in performance of, any of its obligations that are caused by events outside its reasonable control (“Force Majeure Event”). A Force Majeure Event includes any act, event, non-happening, omission, the loss of a specialised supplier leading to the unavailability of specific education content making the creation of new content impossible, or accident beyond Company’s reasonable control including, but not limited to, restrictions of law, regulations, orders, or other governmental directives, labour disputes, acts of God, pandemics, quarantine or travel restrictions, third party mechanical or other equipment breakdowns, terrorist attacks, fire, explosions, fibre optic cable cuts, interruption or failure of telecommunications or digital transmission links, Internet failures or delays, storms or other similar events.

11.10.1 If an individual is listed on one or more of Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd email lists (this includes but is not limited to subscriber lists, communities of interest, e-newsletters, events notifications) an opt-out option is available at all times. Individuals have the ability to unsubscribe by using the ‘unsubscribe’ options available.

12. COMPLAINTS MANAGEMENT
12.1 Complaint Handling Policy
12.1.1 We value complaints as they assist us to improve our service. Health Services Evolution is committed to consistent, fair and confidential complaint handling and to resolving complaints as quickly as possible.
12.1.2 Definition of a complaint – Complaints are defined as any expression of dissatisfaction or grievance made to Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd by a customer in relation to the services provided.
12.1.3 Where can I make a complaint? – by completing the contact form on our website, by telephoning us on 07 4151 3884, by emailing us at enquiries@nursingcpd.com.au.
12.1.4 What information should I provide, and what happens to it? – To help us investigate your complaint quickly and efficiently, we will ask you for the following information: Your name and contact details, the nature of the complaint, details of any steps you have already taken to resolve the complaint, details of conversations you may have had with us that may be relevant to your complaint, copies of any documentation which supports your complaint.
12.1.5 We record all verbal or written complaints. This assists our management team to monitor feedback in order to identify ongoing trends and continuously improve our processes and service.
12.1.6 What happens to my complaint next? – We are committed to being responsive to your needs and to resolving your complaint as quickly as possible. We will acknowledge receipt of a complaint within 24-72 hours and will strive to resolve all complaints within seven days. Wherever possible, we aim to resolve your complaint at the first point of contact, with as little formality as possible. If we’re unable to resolve your complaint immediately, we’ll give you a timeframe, a contact person and details of our complaint handling process. We may need to contact you to clarify details or request additional information where necessary.
12.1.7 How will you keep me informed on progress and outcomes? – We’ll make contact regularly to update you on the progress of your complaint, especially if there are any delays or changes to what we have previously communicated. We’ll also give you feedback on any changes to our products, services or processes that occur as a result of your complaint. Where appropriate, after we resolve your complaint, we may contact you at a later date to seek your feedback on how it was handled.
12.1.8 What if I’m unhappy with the proposed resolution? – If your complaint cannot be resolved by the usual complaint process, it will be referred to Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd management, you will be informed and provided with an amended timeframe for resolution. If we are still unable to resolve the complaint to your satisfaction, we will provide you with information about how you can take further action.
12.1.9 Do you review your complaint handling policy and procedures? – Health Services Evolution Pty Ltd is committed to continuous improvement and we review this policy and process regularly and update it as required.

Anne Evans-Murray
R.N., BHlthSc, MACCCN, Grad.Dip Ed, MEd, Dip Counselling, GradCertCritCare, CertIV Training and Assessment, CertIV in Mediation
Anne has a passion for teaching, which she does in an unpretentious manner that ensures you will not only understand and retain what she presents but also enjoy this learning experience. She has extensive experience of over 26 years lecturing for Gold Coast Health District and Griffith University.
Anne is a frequent presenter at workshops, conferences, and seminars throughout Australia and New Zealand on subjects such as high dependency nursing, cardiac arrhythmias and ECG interpretation, chest X-ray interpretation, clinical assessment of the deteriorating patient, assertion training, and leadership. She conducts accredited advanced life support training for nurses, doctors and paramedics.
Anne has a passionate commitment to empowering all clinical staff through increased awareness and knowledge of the critically ill patient’s condition, so that timely interventions can be implemented, benefiting patient outcomes.
She is the author of three books: “ECGs Simply”, “Interpretation of Chest X-rays Simply” and ‘Uncomplicating Life, Simply’. Her ECG book is a textbook sold in many universities in Australia.
Dr Amanda Bowden
Amanda has a PhD in Cultural Anthropology (the study of human cultures) and has worked in various roles towards addressing inequalities that indigenous peoples, as well as asylum seekers and other people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, may experience.
Amanda’s current role with Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ) means she can share her fascination with the multiple realities we humans create, through cultural competence training, as well as working with communities to improve access to aged care services in Brisbane for people from CALD backgrounds.
Dr Julie Martyn
PhD
Julie Martyn is a senior lecturer who commenced in USC's School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine in February 2016. Her academic career commenced at the Fraser Coast campus in 2005.
She is a Registered Nurse with more than 30 years' experience in acute medical and surgical nursing. Julie completed her Master of Education in 1999. Her dissertation was titled 'The relevance of professional development to nursing practice: A study of professional development in a small provincial hospital'.
She went on to complete her PhD in 2015. Her doctoral research was an appreciative inquiry of medication administration and her thesis is titled ‘An appreciative inquiry into medication administration by registered nurses: The Untold Story.’
For more than 20 years, Julie has worked and lived on the Fraser Coast. During the last 15 years as a nursing academic at the Fraser Coast campus, Julie received several awards and commendations for her contributions to teaching and learning.
Julie actively engages with health care professionals locally and abroad and is establishing her post-doctoral research program in fields of medication safety and health worker continuing education.
Most recently, Julie was funded to undertake research into the continuing education needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Care Practitioners in primary health care services and Personal Care Workers in residential aged care facilities. The reports from these projects gained national attention, and Julie was commissioned to extend the work with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Care Practitioners. The success of this project is a highlight in Julie's research career to date.
Julie is committed to nursing education and advancement of the profession through research, evidence-based practice and authentic learning experiences.
Jules Aitken
MSc (Nurse Practitioner), RN, CDE
Jules Aitken is an Endorsed Nurse Practitioner specialising in Diabetes, Metabolic and Chronic Disease and Weight Management. She attained her Masters of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
She is also a registered Credentialed Diabetes Educator (CDE) registered with the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) gaining her Certificate of Diabetes Management at the University of Technology Sydney. She has worked within the Diabetes, Weight Management and Metabolic and Chronic Disease arena for over 20 years.

Louise has over 25 years of experience in Wound Management and established her Private Practice (Wound Therapies) in 2014.
She has worked in several public hospitals and Community settings in Australia and overseas. She currently works collaboratively with several Aged Care Providers and private hospitals and runs her specialist community wound clinic.
Louise was previously an Honorary Clinical Fellow for Australian Catholic University and continues to participate in research projects with a leading Queensland University.
Louise is passionate about wound care and strives for best practices. Additionally, she has participated in several international working groups for Pressure Injuries and Leg ulcers and frequently presents at workshops, conferences & seminars.
She is a mum of two, loves the Sunny Coast lifestyle and attempting to play golf!
Maria Clemente
BScN, RN, JD, GradDip, Solicitor
Maria Clemente is a registered nurse and solicitor. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (honours) at Brock University in Canada. She worked in rural Ontario in the areas of Emergency and Aged Care.
In 2019 she relocated to Australia and studied at Bond University, obtaining a Juris Doctor with first class distinction. Since then, she has been admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.
Mary Andrew
Mary has a long history working in aged care, with 25 years experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs in various roles addressing
the complex health and support needs of the Veteran community.
Mary joined the Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland
almost 10 years ago – initially as Co-ordinator of the Community Visitor Scheme
(CVS), now the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS) – training and
matching CALD volunteers with consumers from similar backgrounds / language /
and cultural experiences. This was to provide friendship, support and
connection for residents to combat social isolation.
As a PICAC Project officer Mary is actively engaged in
delivering training and professional development to aged care staff and
management, highlighting the diverse needs of CALD aged consumers and the
priority of inclusive care provision. She provides one on one support to
providers and links them to resources promoting best practice models of care.
She actively participates in local aged care networks –
liaising and advocating with providers, professional bodies, and industry
stakeholders regarding the care needs of CALD communities.
Mary has a background in Pharmacy, gaining a qualification in Ireland before migrating to Australia in the early 80s.
Dr Michael Sinnott
MBBS, FACEM, FRACP
Dr Michael Sinnott is a senior clinician and innovator with strong management, research and education skills. Dr Sinnott was involved in clinical medicine for over 35 years before retiring in 2018; the majority of that time was in the Emergency Department.
In the field of research, Dr Sinnott promotes an evidence-based approach to emergency medicine research and practice, and the development of a culture which generates and supports research findings. Dr Sinnott was a driving force in designing the Queensland Emergency Medicine Research Foundation.
Dr Sinnott has contributed to over 40 publications and is a world-leader in research regarding staff safety in healthcare. His expertise lead Dr Sinnott to become involved in the development of safety guidelines and legislation in the USA, and safety standards in Australia.
In the commercial space, Dr Sinnott is the Co-Founder of Qlicksmart Pty Ltd and Smartstream Pty Ltd, who innovate and commercialise safety medical devices.
Silvia Borges
With more than 10 years experience in supporting people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds in a variety of contexts, Silvia has joined Diversicare in September 2011 as the Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care (PICAC) training officer.
She has since been researching, developing and delivering training modules focused in culturally appropriate care for older Australians.

Sue Walker

Sue is the Director and Co-Founder of Nurses for Nurses (NfN), delivering national and international conferences, study tours and professional development programs for nurses and midwives. She is also a key contributor to Nursing CPD, an online education platform supporting nurses to meet NMBA Continuing Professional Development requirements through accessible, evidence-based learning that is firmly grounded in real-world practice.
Sue holds degrees in Nursing and Health Administration, a Master of Primary Health, and postgraduate qualifications in areas including psychiatry of ageing, gerontology, chemotherapy administration and training and assessment. Her career has included frontline clinical roles, senior management and education leadership, giving her a practical, end-to-end understanding of how healthcare policy, workforce pressures and clinical realities collide at the point of care, in the community and across the system.

Helen is a specialist in Continuing Professional Development events organisation. Helen has worked in this field for the past 10 years and during this time has gained a thorough understanding of the CPD requirements of Nursing Professionals.
In addition, Helen manages the intricacies of providing excellent Conference Programs with the key requirements to ensure an exceptional educational travel experience. David Ruzicka
Masters Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner), Master of Palliative Care
David is a nurse practitioner with over 14 years of clinical experience in palliative care. David has worked in both the acute and community sector within various Queensland health facilities throughout the state. He has proven ability as a palliative care clinician and researcher, as well as with mentoring and motivating staff. David has completed a Master of Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner) with distinction and a Master of Palliative care and is currently employed as a Nurse Practitioner within the Palliative care service in the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health service.
Colleen Reid
In 1974 Colleen thought she would become a nurse for a little while. Forty five years later she retired from nursing remains engaged and interested in the nursing profession and continues her work in nursing education.
During those years she became increasingly drawn back to psychiatry, working with people who were experiencing life very differently and who were at risk of ever- increasing marginalisation.

Colleen completed her Psychiatric training first, then her General and Obstetric training in the last cohort of hospital trained nurses in Auckland. She has a BA Humanities and a Grad Certificate in Adult Education.
Swaatha Haji
Swaatha Haji (she/her) is a passionate leader in community health and advocacy.
Swaatha holds a Masters in Global Public Health from Griffith University and has extensive experience working with clients from multiple African, Middle Eastern, and Asian communities. This has directly informed her understanding of the different health challenges these diverse communities experience.
Being from a Somali African background herself, Swaatha has co-planned and co-delivered health information sessions to the Somali community in Brisbane. She has also conducted, analysed, and produced a research study to assess the effectiveness and impact of the health information sessions on participants.
Swaatha is especially passionate about FGM/C, given that the Somali community has one of the highest rates of FGM/C in the African communities. Swaatha is determined to be part of creating better maternal health outcomes for pregnant women and people affected by FGM/C.
Swaatha graduated from the inaugural National Education Toolkit for Female Genital Mutilation/ Cutting Awareness (NETFA) Leadership Program in 2022.
Sara Yousif
Sara Yousif (she/her) has been a member of the Mater Refugee Health Advisory Group (known as the ‘G11’) for 6 years. Originally from Iraq, she spent six years in Syria prior to living in Australia and has many connections with Arabic speaking communities in Brisbane.
She worked as a Case Manager Assistant and Arrival Coordinator at Multicultural Australia for 6 years where she met many new arrivals through the Humanitarian Support Program (often at 1am and 4am at Brisbane Airport!) She now works as a Mental Health and NDIS Support coordinator with the Richmond Fellowship Queensland.

Mi Nguyen
Mi Nguyen (she/her) is a Senior Project Officer at the Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health (MCWH), a community-based national organisation that aims to improve the health and wellbeing of migrant and refugee women. She currently leads PACE Leadership, a program that strengthens migrant and refugee women’s capacities to take on leadership roles in their workplaces and communities.
Mi has worked in not-for-profit organisations supporting migrant and refugee communities for over a decade, and has extensive experience in promoting gender equality, women’s leadership, inclusion, health and wellbeing.
She has worked in various capacities, including program management and coordination, communications, research and capacity building. Mi holds a Master in Development Studies with a gender specialisation.

Dr Paula Foran
PhD RN, FACORN
Dr Paula Foran comes from a perianaesthesia nursing background. She has many publications to her credit including published articles and several book chapters on perianaesthesia and surgical nursing.
Paula currently sits on the ‘Victorian Perioperative Council’ and the case review sub-committee in morbidity and mortality for the Department of Health.
Paula is the sub-editor for the Journal of Perioperative Nursing and manages the column, ‘Emerging Scholars’ where Paula assists postgraduate students to see their publications come to fruition.
Paula has been a guest speaker and presented keynote presentations at national & international conferences. She has been awarded the ‘Most Popular Presenter’ for her keynote address at the International Collaboration of Perianaesthesia Nurses, and Best Oral Paper award at the European Operating Room Nurses conference in The Hague.
Paula completed her research PhD in 2012 and currently is the Unit Coordinator of the master by coursework subjects (CNA802 & CNA803) and the Master Clinical Nursing Coordinator at the University of Tasmania.

Amy Gibson

Amy is a credentialed clinical pharmacist with experience across a range of sectors, including community pharmacy, corporate pharmacy operations, multidisciplinary teams, residential aged care and general practice.
Amy has completed post-graduate studies in clinical pharmacy and education and has held her consultant pharmacist credentials for more than a decade.
She currently works as an integrated onsite pharmacist in aged care, providing support to GPs, nurses, residents and their families to provide safe and effective use of medicines.
Amy also acts as a mentor and educator for pharmacists who have recently graduated as well as to pharmacists who may be established, but are moving into more clinical areas of practice.

With 16 years spent in major emergency departments, she has held senior leadership roles such as Nursing Director, Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultant, and Nurse Educator.

Lucy Osborn brings experience across clinical practice, academia and national leadership, with a strong reputation for delivering engaging, high-impact education for nurses at every stage of their career. She is currently undertaking a PhD focused on nursing competence assessment and recently delivered the keynote address at the 2025 Australian College of Nursing (ACN) Nurses Forum. Lucy is also the youngest Fellow in ACN’s history — a distinction that reflects her commitment to leadership, mentorship and professional advocacy.
Her areas of expertise include nursing leadership, paediatric and neonatal intensive care, emergency practice, health equity and system-level advocacy. Lucy’s presentations are dynamic, evidence-based and grounded in contemporary nursing realities. Whether leading a workshop or addressing a national audience, she creates space for reflection, critical thinking and professional confidence — leaving nurses clearer in their purpose and energised in their practice.
