Venous leg ulcers are challenging to manage and one of the most prevalent chronic wounds in the community and aged care environment.  These wounds are costly to the patient in terms of their quality of life and financial impact.

Choosing a suitable dressing is important but more often than not managing oedema is not included as part of the management plan despite research showing that best practice for leg ulcers is to manage both the wound and oedema.
