Course Content

Time-restricted feeding (TRF) is a dietary approach that involves restricting the time window during which an individual consumes food. The basic idea is to limit the daily intake of calories to a specific time period, typically ranging from 8 to 12 hours, and abstain from food consumption during the remaining hours of the day. This approach is often considered a form of intermittent fasting.

Cienfuegos et al. conducted a study examining the impact of two commonly practiced time-restricted feeding methods (4 and 6 hours) on body weight and cardiometabolic risk factors in adults with obesity. The findings revealed that both diets resulted in similar decreases in body weight, energy intake, insulin resistance, and oxidative stress.

In this session we will explore the article and review the key components of the study. The aim of the session is to enhance your knowledge of time restricted eating and the health benefits resulting from same.
