What is the difference between critical colonisation and wound infection? How do we manage these wounds? Should we treat all wounds with antibiotics? 

 This webinar explores the continuum for wound infection and the bacterial bioburden of a wound. It will explore the concept of "bioburden" and non-healing wounds and look at best practice for managing them to achieve good healing outcomes. We are all aware of the term "antimicrobial stewardship"  how does this affect your clinical practise in wound care? You will explore this concept in relation to assessing and treating wounds.

There are multiple anti-microbial dressings available in Australia. These can be confusing how do they work, when do you apply them how long do you use them? Are you confused between antimicrobials, antiseptics and anti-infectives? The webinar will explore some of these products and their application to support your decision making.
