Course Content

About a third of Australians have been diagnosed with asthma or COPD. These conditions have a significant impact on physical, psychological and social well-being.

The Australian Asthma Handbook was updated at the end of 2025, introducing major changes to recommendations for the treatment of adolescents and adults with asthma. It represents a major shift in how we educate patients to optimise their therapy, which remains challenging with the large range of inhaler devices and formulations now available.

This webinar will provide a summary of these changes, as well as some thought points on how we can better engage with asthmatic patients to improve symptom management through better inhaler use.

It will also revisit the COPD guidelines, moving beyond an inhaler prescription to a more patient-focused, holistic approach to improving not just respiratory function but quality of life. It will also equip you with the resources needed to keep on top of this challenging and changing area of practice.
